Eric Johnson

Born in a single room log cabin with a dirt floor, Eric had not an easy childhood. School was tiring as walking there required wading across a river and then up over a hill. Luckily, he graduated 8th grade and the rest was history.

Grew up in the midwest and the family was in the boiler business so Eric was always around it. Went to college for HVACR Engineering Tech where Eric learned how to troubleshoot and design HVACR systems for buildings. After college, Eric didn't want to work in an office, so he worked as a boiler service technician fixing commercial and industrial boilers and their systems. During that time, Eric learned how much the industry needed training. Current OEMs and companies did offer training, but it was product specific and only across 1-3 days. People are not designed to learn everything in 1-3 days and need more time and repetition. Seeing that most companies were continuing to roll out the same playbook year after year, Eric saw the opportunity of using his skills and knowledge to offer training in the niche market of boiler, burners, steam, and hydronics. He realized the time is now, so he moved from servicing boilers to starting Boilearn. The company is an education company with two primary focuses. Tell people about the boiler industry and train up the people inside the industry. Hiring more people isn't going to fix the workforce problem if companies can't training them up with the right skills.

When he founded Boilearn, Eric moved to Tampa Florida to enjoy the sandy beaches, warm weather, and to find out what it really means to be a Florida man. Eric is obsessed with all things boilers and is a student of the industry. Complementing that is a drive for personal excellence in all things.
